A short history of the club by Fraser Troup,
Kingseat Fieldsporters Club was formed on the 13th of August 1986 by a small band of enthusiasts at Kingseat Hospital. The aim of the club is to form a friendly group of those who have a common interest in conservation and field sports. A competitive spirit will be fostered by instructing members in clay target, field target, air pistol shooting, gundog tests and angling contests. By participating in these events club members can win numerous trophies and also gain points for the formal "Kingseat Fieldsporter of the Year Award" Convenors are chosen annually and liaise to produce an impressive programme of events. The intention of the club has always been to build good relationships with the local community, clubs, Grampian Police, sporting estates and charitable organisations. The club has enjoyed considerable success in various inter-club events throughout the years with some brilliant individual performances. The club has been affiliated to the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) since 1989. We are very proud of our junior section, which continues to improve. The club is extremely grateful for the continued permission and support from the local farmer who allows us to use his ground.
